Oswego – The 2026 Not-So-Silent Auction Committee has set the date and location for their signature spring event. This year, the Not-So-Silent Auction will take place on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Riverfront room and breakfast room at G.S. Steamers located at 70 E 1st Street in Oswego.

This new location for 2026 has excited the auction planning committee. “History on Tap is held in the Riverfront room,” Co-Chair Mary Kay Stone stated, “so it will be fun for us to be back in this space for the auction. The Broadwell Group has long been a supporter of the historical society, and we’re thrilled to continue working with them.”

This evening of fun features the opportunity to “silently” bid on Oswego-related memorabilia, collectibles, antiques, artwork, home goods, and more. Over half of the more than 100 items are donations from local businesses and restaurants, giving guests the chance to go all-in on their support of the local community. Guests can also participate in a lotto board and enjoy light refreshments while they wait for the not-so-silent event of the evening, the live auction.

The live auction, hosted by Gerald (“Jerry”) Petro of Iroquois Auctions in Brewerton, begins at 7:15 p.m. During the live auction, guests can bid on exciting donations like the “Stay and Play” package at the Clarion Hotel worth $200. This package includes one night at the hotel, 4 passes for Splash Water Park and some coupons for use on water park and hotel amenities. Another popular live auction item is the Tiki Tour boat cruise donated by the City of Oswego. This cruise of the Oswego harbor features unforgettable views of the city.

Advance tickets may be purchased by calling the museum at 315-343-1342. Tickets are also available at the door starting at 6:00 p.m. Light fare will be available and there is a cash bar and door prizes. Each ticket allows the holder to bring a personal antique to be appraised, so before the live auction Jerry will be available for appraisals.  Extra items can be appraised for a small fee. Donations and sponsorship opportunities are still open: Contact the museum at 315-343-1342 or event co-chairs Mary Kay Stone and Jennifer Bertollini for more information.

The Oswego County Historical Society owns and operates the Richardson-Bates House Museum located at 135 E. 3rd Street. This event is the largest fundraiser to support the maintenance and preservation of the historic house, which is on the National Register. The house is open for tours April – December.
